There are new medicare plans for 2008. I would strongly recommend reviewing your current plan each year as there are sometimes dramatic differences. If you think outside the box you will find some great health plans. The big companies such as Blue Cross will charge whatever they want because they assume people will just go with the name and they spend a ton of money on advertising which reflects in the premiums and benefits. If you look at some other companies you may be pleasantly surprised with the benefits you will find.

Why did the Minneapolis City Council re-draw the districts a few years ago? What was the motivation?

It seems to me that point 2 under "Challenge" is in error. THIS procedural matter is MOST substantive.

I've heard many words of praise, for Iowa's redistricting process.

It would be interesting, to look at Gov. Schwarznegger's proposal, and the circumstances involvved in its rejection by the electorate.

The 5-judge panel appointed by Chief Justice Blatz conducted very thorough and dignified hearings leading up to their redistricting decisions, and, on the whole, I think did a pretty good job with the Congressional Districts in Minnesota.

On the opposite end of that spectrum, it appalls and astonishes me, that the Mpls. City Council was determined, and permitted, to DELAY redistricting into the 4th year past the census.

Redistricting is the great Gordian Knot of the electoral system. Coherent recommendations could have a major impact on the entire Minnesota policy process.

Hi Erin, thanks for chiming in.

Yeah, it's one thing to deploy the interactive techie gizmos, but quite another to actually get people to show up regularly to use them in helpful ways.

Cool stuff. I like the idea of incorporating a lot of different kinds of interactive forums (so long as they are both engaging and productive, anyway).

Just testing out the comment feature.

Does it allow spaces between paragraphs?

Will it make links automatically without html, like this?
